Malaysia-Malacca-Hotel Puri in Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock





The first two pictures show the inside airwell of the hotel while the last two shows the front view of the hotel.The street is now named Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock .Historical name is Heeren street.The floor tiles are beautiful Victorian tiles.Enjoy the mother of pearl antique chairs inside .

The moon gate is also of  Chinese cultural significance.
The last picture shows a boy acrobat balancing on a rolling drum as part of 
crowd pulling festive season events.

Malaysia-traditions -Malacca

The following photos depict the traditional bakul sia and Nyonya kuih .Photos courtesy of  my generous friend William Lee.

Bakul sia in traditional colours of red,black and gold.
Made from rattan or bamboo.

Varieties of Nyonya kuih in the bakul sia.
Most of the time the taste is sweet.
Coconut is widely used as also is glutinous rice flour.
