Melaka historical sights of Merdeka or Independence 31 August 1957

The repainted Stadthuys which used to house the State Government offices. The colourfully decorated trishaw(beca) manually pedalled for your sight seeing pleasures. There is a row of them awaiting tourist passengers.

The( ruins )of the Fort is more clearly seen here.

The fort on the RH,the blue bullock cart replica, the museum building in the background.

In the far background is the Melaka Independence memorial Building

The Melaka tree

The Melaka Islamic World museum

The Merdeka or Independence Stone inscribed with 31st August 1957

Melaka food @Dataran Pahlawan Dragon -I

Xiao Long Pau with ginger strips in black vinegar.See picture below.
Eat it by placing the whole dumpling in your mouth. The tasty gravy inside will delight your palete. If you try to bite when the dumpling is not all inside your mouth, you will lose the lovely precious gravy taste. If you order the big single dumpling, you will use a straw to suck the liquid out.In Shanghai, you just leave the meat and dumpling outer wrap uneaten. But as Malaysians,we eat all.Waste not, want not.Just sharing my experience.

Fried taukey (beancurd sheets)wrapped with prawn

Fried noodles with seafood.Tastes like yee mee after you stir the gravy from beneath.See the fresh cod slices cooked just right, the prawns, crabmeat and cuttlefish. Some greens and carrots to add colour ,flavour and nutrition. You can also substitute the fried noodles with la mien.('pulled' flour noodles)

Fried Spring rolls-yummy,crispy and lots of filling

Mango sago creme with pomelo and mango -very smooth and not too sweet

This is the new outlet @ Pahlawan 1st floor ,up the escalator ,see Uniqlo on your RH ,walk straight ,turn left.
