Malaysia-Malacca-Cheng Hoon Teng in Temple Street

Met a young Dutch couple in Cheng Hoon Teng temple yesterday 22/2/2012.That was the 1st day of the 2nd Lunar month so there were many locals there offering prayers at this oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia.I informed  them that on 1st and 15th days of each Lunar month more worshippers come to the temple. The other busy times are Chinese New Year and also festivities of deities.Cheng Hoon Teng means the Temple of Green Clouds. There is a Confucius tablet behind  the right side arch leading to a small courtyard garden encircling the back of the temple.
The street is named Temple Street also known as Harmony Street as there is a mosque and a hindu temple located to the right of the temple facing out from the temple main door. You will need to walk a little down the street.

Some pictures here to share  for their benefit. And if they wanted to see a Buddhist temple in Malacca town ,it is along Jln Gajah Berang -Seck Kia Eenh.Cheng Hoon Teng is one of the many Taoist temples here.

Malaysia-Japanese food in KL city-MUNAKATA in Life Centre Jln Sultan Ismail

I must say the food and service in this Japanese restaurant are really of commendable quality.Even the ala carte buffet is top notch and served with care and smiles. At RM70++ and with promotion of buy 2 free 1,it is certainly a good deal. Not cheap but reasonable .Most importantly the taste is authentic.I am sharing one unique dish here.Mushroom wrapped in thin beef slices .Why did I single out this dish for a photo shoot?Intrigue! At first glance, I thought it was stuffed cuttlefish .All the other dishes like unagi ,cod fish, salmon sashimi, tempura ,soft shell crab, green tea ice cream ,beef etc etc are very delicious.Have a try if you are in town .Deal or no deal it is a must try.:)Eat all you can But waste not .There is a surcharge for wastage.
The coffee with pure gold leaf sprinkled is RM11++.If you try let me know:)

Enjoy your culinary experience!

Malaysia-Bus Travel Malacca-KL ,KL-Malacca

Public transport from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur  and from KL to Malacca. The bus terminals are :Melaka Sentral by Transnasional or KKKL Express and return is via Bandar Tasik Selatan transport hub in Selangor.
Please check with ticketing on exact the time schedule. The normal routine is hourly intervals. However on weekends there may be additional trips at selected half hourly intervals.
Arrival is about 2 hours in cases of smooth traffic flow on normal traffic days. When there is a extended weekends or public holidays then heavier outflow and inflow of vehicles on the North South highway may cause some delays.
The ride is very comfortable and scenic along some stretches if you like greenery.

When the Melaka bus arrives at the new terminal at Bandar Tasik Selatan, please disembark and proceed to get tickets for your continued travel to KL.Eg if you want to get to Kelana Jaya Station in Petaling Jaya(PJ) you need to walk over to the connected LRT station and purchase the tickets for boarding accordingly.
If you want to go to places nearer KL City Centre you would probably  get down before the Masjid Jamek interchange .If going to Kelana Jaya you need to change to Putra line at Masjid Jamek. The interchange is now fully covered and safe and easy to move around.
If you are continuing your journey into KL city or thereabouts by bus or KTM commuter train, please make the enquiries and get your tickets and board accordingly.
Below are some pictures of the Bandar Tasik Selatan transport hub.I personally enjoyed the trip very recently.
The whole place is airconditioned, has escalators and signages, shops and ample seats in waiting areas. There are electronic boards to show arrival and departure and status of the bus for which you have bought the tickets.Even the bus nos. are stated so everything is efficient.I must really say I would give it top marks .The only area to improve would be the toilet floors which were a bit too wet .
Comparing this with my earlier Pudu Raya terminal experiences ,this is indeed a quantum leap. The comfort level is something that has improved many fold.I would suggest perhaps a mini food court or more fast food outlets like what we have in Melaka Sentral.
Overall it is getting nearer to match KLIA standards:)Well Done!
