Malaysai-Sarawak,Kuching

The souveniers here are fairly priced.Eg RM 1 per piece of key chain with a little woodcarving .But if you get a bag of 17-18pieces they go as low as RM10 per bag!Walkable distance from hotels along the waterfront like Grand Magherita.

Good Kolok mee in Chinatown.
Sights  as you cruise the Kuching river

Sago harvest dance performance by Melanau tribe onboard Sarawak cruise boat.

This is the lovely ambience on upper deck.

The Sarawak river cruise boat is a great 1.5hours of fun, kueh lapis and free flow of orange juice with traditional dance performances included.Very clean, stable and well organised.Buy tickets on line for advanced booking. Not to be missed:)

Mee Laksa and 3 layer iced teas in different glass sizes in a coffee shop near Grand Mahgherita Hotel.Near Ayam RJ .The shop is Chin Chong.

LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge -good buffet spread, warm ambience, lovely art and decor.

A drink named snake. It's a herbal 'liang teh'.
Get Transnasional bus as your preferred transport to KLIA or LCCT.
For Malaccans ,I have a schedule somewhere in my blog.Just type KLIA/LCCT into the search column.

The Sarawak Textile Museum is housed in a pretty architectural design building(3levels).The Chinese history museum is also worth a visit. It is opposite the Tua Pek Kong temple in China town near Hilton Hotel.

Ranee Hotel is along Main Bazaar .It is a  boutique hotel and has courteous and helpful staff.I have not stayed there but did stop by on a rainy afternoon and found the experience pleasant. The staff helped to get us a cab even though we were not staying guests. Most cabs within city areas are RM12 per trip. From city hotels to the Kuching international airport the taxis charge RM26.It applies vice versa. It is often easier to get your taxis/cabs from hotels than to flag down one. From experience, hotel staff are very helpful.
